About us

KMO Global Consulting aims to help institutions provide the best support possible to the international students studying at their campuses around the globe, and to support students and practitioners outside of the U.S. in their professional development.

Dr. Kerrie Montgomery Orozco founded KMO Global Consulting, LLC in 2023 to provide services related to the unique needs of students and practitioners in the international higher education space.

Kerrie Montgomery Orozco, Ph.D.

Founder/CEO

Dr. Kerrie Montgomery Orozco boasts a 25-year career in higher education, specializing in international education, strategic and event planning, leadership, and teaching. She has held progressively responsible roles in study abroad and international exchange, academic advising, and student activities at both public and private institutions in the U.S. She has also served as an adjunct professor for the University of Florida’s Student Personnel in Higher Education Program, and an instructor for the NASPA/EucA-sponsored Training of Experts in Student Affairs European Master’s Certificate offered by LUMSA University in Rome, Italy.

Kerrie’s dissertation research focused on the first-year transition experiences of Chinese undergraduate students pursuing degrees in the U.S., and led to a publication in the peer-reviewed Journal of International Students.

Kerrie’s commitment to professional growth and development is evident through her leadership roles in NASPA: Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, where, in addition to serving on the Board for NASPA-Florida, she serves as Professional Development Co-Lead for the NASPA Global Division, Planning Committee Member and Past-Chair for the NASPA International Symposium, Region III Representative for the International Education Knowledge Community, and Past-Membership & Engagement Chair for the Mid-Level Administrators Steering Committee. She has also Chaired the Staff Development Committee for Florida International University’s Division of Student Affairs.

Kerrie holds a BA in Classical Studies and dual Masters degrees from the University of Florida in Art History and Student Personnel in Higher Education, and a PhD in Higher Education from the University of Denver. She also has a TEFL Level 5 Advanced Certification (180 hours) awarded by the TEFL Institute.
